Monica Banks has been a professional sculptor for 30 years. Since she started making porcelain cakes in 2014, this work has won numerous awards and has been covered in The New York Times, Brooklyn Rail, Hamptons Art Hub, The East Hampton Star, and the Sag Harbor Express. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Parrish, the Islip Art Museum, the Daura Gallery at Lynchburg College, the Catherine Konner Sculpture Park, and the University Museum of Contemporary Art at U Mass Amherst and her permanent public works are located in the Bronx,, Binghamton NY, and Charlotte NC. Her piece, "Faces: Times Square” which stood in Times Square from 1996-2009 and won an award from the Public Design Commission of the City of New York.
